What is this?

The Chinese have been using Tung Oil for at least 2500 years for making waterproof boats and woodwork. It’s regarded by many as the finest natural wood finish. Many Tung Oils in the market are diluted with cheaper oils or chemical ‘dryers’. Our Premium quality Tung Oil is 100% pure natural oil from Tung Tree seeds (called ‘Tung Nuts’).

♡ WHY WE LOVE TUNG OIL
• It protects the wood and enhances the beauty of the grain with a very low sheen finish
• It forms a hard natural film that is tough, food-safe, child-safe and water-resistant when it cures
• Its clear and does not yellow over time
• It is resistant to food stains and food acids, so, ideal for food preparation surfaces, dining table tops and kitchen tops
• It can be used for wooden floors, furniture, interior and exterior, on top of other varnish, for sealing stone & terracotta… for beehives and horse stables as it is safe for animals and insects. It is truly versatile!

———- APPLICATION ———-
Pure Tung Oil is thicker and more viscous than other oils. It is best applied with lint-free rag.
It can be used as it is, but it can be thinned with solvents for easier application and deeper penetration for the wood. You can purchase our natural citrus solvent (Orange Oil) from our shop, or purchase a blend of Tung oil & Orange oil (Natural Wood Sealer).
Apply with a rag, buff it off well, dry and reapply over a few days.
Full instruction and tips for application will be sent with your order.

———- STORAGE ———-
Our tung oils are stored in a dark & low temperature environment until shipped. Please store in the same conditions and use it in good time.
If stored in light, hard deposits and films will start forming and the oil is no longer in good condition for use.

———- ALLERGY ———-
Although it is called ‘Tung Nuts’, it is actually a large seed and Tung oil is a seed oil.
Tung Oil is not known to be associated with any other nut allergies. However, a Tung Oil allergy does exist, although rare, so please check your allergy status.
